do we matter?

"Our mattering doesn't depend on a stellar performance. We matter because we are children of the living, breathing, reigning God of the universe. We matter because we were bought with the blood of the Son of our Father God...We matter because He says we matter." - Jennie Allen

We have been created in the image of God. Any and all humans matters. Wealth, achievements, performance does not make us matter one bit more to God. He loves what He has created.
He cares about us because He made us. We have worth in His eyes.
And He gave us salvation, restoration and relationship with Him.

a {Sunday} quote

"Vulnerability is not knowing victory or defeat, it's understanding the necessity of both; it's engaging. It's being all in.

When we spend our lives waiting until we're perfect or bulletproof before we walk into the arena, we ultimate sacrifice relationships and opportunities that may not be recoverable, we squander our precious time, and we turn our backs on our gifts, those unique contributions that only we can make."

a {Sunday} quote

the following quote I read last week links in well with thoughts my man and I have been talking and discovering about living fully alive in this world...
"We must see God’s gifts of creation as windows into his glory and opportunities to praise him. But we must also find pleasure in them....Attention given to creation is not stolen from its Creator. The more we enjoy God’s gifts for their own sake, the more we can appreciate him. And thank him for, and love him with.
Thank God for the privilege of being human and of being here.                         Then go have some fun. " - T.C.

broken things

God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to
give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength.
It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.
It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever. - VH

the other day I came across that quote and was blessed. Often I struggle to be okay to be okay with my past, my mistakes, the broken things in my life. I struggle to move on, to continue on. "I make such a mess, why would God want to use me?" I ask myself. "What good am I if all I do is make bigger mistakes?" It binds me.

But God....God uses the broken things. He makes them whole. He uses them. He makes them beautiful.

You make beautiful things out of dust...You make beautiful things out of us. - Gungor
